Family

I have posted in the past about people in positions of power, money, influence, are seldom held accountable for their actions. I have made this point particularly against the workings of Hollywood and the way their politics have bled over into everyday society. Speaking only on things that have been made public record, such as the contractual hijacking of a persons childhood that Disney places on it’s child stars, most of whom are not even deemed old enough to be granted the responsibility of a driver’s license or hold hold a standard job when they are first contracted to become these stars. I have spoken on convicted child rapists who escape they’re penalty being gifted an Academy Award for their work. I have mentioned the ability they have to say and do things openly in the public that the average citizen would get arrested for. All of this is pretty much open and available knowledge, there has always been this rumored underbelly of the beast that has been swept under the rug by their own…..Until now. Now like wildfire people are being outed into the light of day and it is showing no signs of letting up, in fact it is growing. The Harvey Weinstein allegations and subsequent punishment has sparked the #MeToo movement against sexual harassment by women in droves. And while Rose McGowan may down play the actions of a child rapist, whose victim was A BOY, it seems now that former 80’s child star Corey Feldman has had enough with pedophilia being overlooked as a major issue in Hollywood, now he has always spoke up about it, but until recently with so many victims making cases against powerful people in the industry the climate is now right to make the biggest impact and he is making his move, which hopefully brings out the cavalry. My only issue with all of this is that we are seeing some cases come to light which are early signs of the Witch Hunt Syndrome society tends to get whenever something like this becomes a big deal and every body suddenly wants to push to do something about this issue that has been in our faces this whole time. The same thing happened in the education system post Columbine shooting, when everyone decided that they should fear their own schools getting shot up. What this led to initially was kids who were being bullied at the time, now not only had to deal with their tormentors, but the scrutiny of the faculty as well who automatically put them into the suspected potential for mass violence list. Years and multiple mass media covered shootings later, my own incarceration over a misrepresented line in something I wrote became further proof of what happens when we as a society get on a roll with screaming for justice too loudly to hear reasoning over top of it.

That said, I am glad to finally see people trying to take back a very influential industry from predators who have milked secrecy for far too long, and have gained far more power than they deserve because of it. I just want to stress, be mindful of the possible overextentions that have a tendency to follow such a huge movement. BURN IT DOWN, just keep it within the boundaries.

Now you may be wondering why I bring any of this up and how it is in any way relevant to the topic I am about to go into, well here is my answer. You have to wonder why it is pedophilia can be allowed to go under the radar in Hollywood for so long, why an 80’s child star is now standing up to be the hero for others that no one wanted to be for him and the only thing that I can come up with is money, the people who make it and help others make it are people no one wants to stand against. What I am about to tell you is further proof, that there is something terribly wrong with society’s mentality. You see Hollywood is not the only place that has been quietly making children victims. I am referring to Health care in America, in the forms of both denying a child coverage of insurance, or the out right refusal to treat a child all together. The following are example pulled from petitions from http://Change.org

For me it began last year with the signing of this petition to help an infant child get put back on the transplant list after being removed, for reasons that she may be developmentally slow. Now I will not rehash the story of baby Lily, you can find it on my page Loss Column

Baby Lily, never did get back on the list in her home area and she died one of the last losses of 2016 on December 31st. That was a hard one because I shared that petition almost daily sometimes in several places. It was beyond me how Health Care providers could leave a child, who had a chance to live to die like that. It seems it does not stop there.

Before I go further I want to cover what is “Claimed” to be the cornerstone of health care givers when they enter the field. Below are both the original Hypocratic Oath as well as it’s reboot for modern language, What I will show you next will make you further question whether or not some health care providers may have mistaken it as the Hypocritical Oath.

Original Version

I swear by Apollo Physician and Asclepius and Hygieia and Panaceia and all the gods and goddesses, making them my witnesses, that I will fulfill according to my ability and judgment this oath and this covenant:

To hold him who has taught me this art as equal to my parents and to live my life in partnership with him, and if he is in need of money to give him a share of mine, and to regard his offspring as equal to my brothers in male lineage and to teach them this art—if they desire to learn it—without fee and covenant; to give a share of precepts and oral instruction and all the other learning to my sons and to the sons of him who has instructed me and to pupils who have signed the covenant and have taken an oath according to the medical law, but no one else.

I will apply dietetic measures for the benefit of the sick according to my ability and judgment; I will keep them from harm and injustice.

I will neither give a deadly drug to anybody who asked for it, nor will I make a suggestion to this effect. Similarly I will not give to a woman an abortive remedy. In purity and holiness I will guard my life and my art.

I will not use the knife, not even on sufferers from stone, but will withdraw in favor of such men as are engaged in this work.

Whatever houses I may visit, I will come for the benefit of the sick, remaining free of all intentional injustice, of all mischief and in particular of sexual relations with both female and male persons, be they free or slaves.

What I may see or hear in the course of the treatment or even outside of the treatment in regard to the life of men, which on no account one must spread abroad, I will keep to myself, holding such things shameful to be spoken about.

If I fulfill this oath and do not violate it, may it be granted to me to enjoy life and art, being honored with fame among all men for all time to come; if I transgress it and swear falsely, may the opposite of all this be my lot.

Reboot Version

I swear to fulfill, to the best of my ability and judgment, this covenant:

I will respect the hard-won scientific gains of those physicians in whose steps I walk, and gladly share such knowledge as is mine with those who are to follow.

I will apply, for the benefit of the sick, all measures [that] are required, avoiding those twin traps of overtreatment and therapeutic nihilism.

I will remember that there is art to medicine as well as science, and that warmth, sympathy, and understanding may outweigh the surgeon’s knife or the chemist’s drug.

I will not be ashamed to say “I know not,” nor will I fail to call in my colleagues when the skills of another are needed for a patient’s recovery.

I will respect the privacy of my patients, for their problems are not disclosed to me that the world may know. Most especially must I tread with care in matters of life and death. If it is given me to save a life, all thanks. But it may also be within my power to take a life; this awesome responsibility must be faced with great humbleness and awareness of my own frailty. Above all, I must not play at God.

I will remember that I do not treat a fever chart, a cancerous growth, but a sick human being, whose illness may affect the person’s family and economic stability. My responsibility includes these related problems, if I am to care adequately for the sick.

I will prevent disease whenever I can, for prevention is preferable to cure.

I will remember that I remain a member of society, with special obligations to all my fellow human beings, those sound of mind and body as well as the infirm.

If I do not violate this oath, may I enjoy life and art, respected while I live and remembered with affection thereafter. May I always act so as to preserve the finest traditions of my calling and may I long experience the joy of healing those who seek my help.

People have said that the pain that is felt during kidney failure can be compared to woman being in labor. You might also add that rather than a life being produced at the end of it, a life ends instead. In the above petition a situation is laid out where that is exactly the fate health care providers have placed on a 2 year old child on account of his father being a parole violator….You heard that right people. Sins of the father has sentenced an innocent 2 year old to a painful death unless something is done to prevent this from happening. I’m sorry is that not often the type of thing that we use as justification for dropping bombs on other countries? When this child is on his death bed, he may still be too young to ask how much more grateful he is to live in the United States than anywhere else in the world. I ask you how is this not criminal enough for the law to step in and either force them to try to do something, or strip them of their license? Let’s ask the US Government, who are here to make America Great Again shall we?

Well congress seems content to drag it’s feet on the matter, but then not four years ago dragging it’s feet is exactly what caused a government shut down. Yes that was BEFORE our current President took office, old habits seem to die hard. Every body wants that pay and to have their own health coverage for life, but make a choice that may see them jeopardize that re election campaign and their strength and good judgement, disappears.

I will say this once. When it comes time to scream how pro life you are in enforcing anti abortion laws everyone steps up. When it comes time to show how “Pro Life” you really are when it comes to ensuring the quality of life for the young folk once they are born, “Pro Life” looks a lot more like “Pro Capitalism”

There is something terribly wrong with the mentality of humanity, a wall that blocks us from the good will of common sense. The thing that disturbs me most about it is the indication of how little we honestly care about the future of our people, particularly that of our young folk. You want to know History, you want to know how it is that every great civilization falls, how can it not when it’s only idea of investment is in profit and not in ensuring the quality of life of it’s future generations, especially the ones whose shoulders the most powerful stand on? All of the above are direct links to these petitions, so if you are reading this, you can also go and sign them yourselves, if you see where I am coming from with this. I have already signed and shared them all on social media. If we want a future for our people, the responsibility is as much ours as any politician’s. There is a wall that is blocking us from the future, a REAL FUTURE, and it’s time, much like what people in Hollywood have decided, to BURN IT DOWN! BURN IT DOWN! BURN IT DOWN!

“America is a wall and you are on the other side. How’s a black man ever going to get a fair trial with the enemy on the bench and in the jury box?. My life in white hands? You Jake, that’s how. You are my secret weapon because you are one of the bad guys. You don’t mean to be but you are. It’s how you was raised. Nigger, negro, black, African-American, no matter how you see me, you see me different, you see me like that jury sees me, you are them. Now throw out your points of law Jake. If you was on that jury, what would it take to convince you to set me free? That’s how you save my ass. That’s how you save us both.” – Samuel L. Jackson “A Time To Kill”

The above quote from the movie “A Time To Kill” is one of the most powerful lines, not only in that movie, but in the message it delivers and how it can be applied to any form of prejudice, be it racism, sexism, religious persecution, social class differences, EVERY form of superficial reasoning one person can conjure in their minds to place another human being below them in value. In this particular case I want to cover one of the hottest topics of the moment, sexism.

Though some may not agree with this sexism is a door that swings both ways from both genders. I remember once being made fun of because I could cook and run a vacuum cleaner, “That’s a woman’s work.” I was told. Apparently it did not matter that I was single, or that all of these things deemed “A woman’s work” are actually just LIFE SKILLS that if you don’t know how to do for yourself  and if there is no one there to do things for you, then they don’t get done period. On the flip side of that I have seen women put down other women BECAUSE they CHOOSE to be homemakers and don’t feel any particular need to “Make it, in a man’s world.” So to speak, like these women are an affront to the feminist movement and actually to me this really does sound no different than the men who want to think that cleaning house is a “Woman’s job” and if you are a guy who does it then you are an affront to man hood. I have heard the dreaded statement of “The only thing a woman is good for is sex.” I have had to listen to why “MEN” are everything that is wrong with this world. I have heard the perverted stories of old men growing up in construction, but I have also got a kick out of the perverted jokes about the jumbo sized hot dog in the vending machine, of the break room when I worked in an office as one of only four  men there. To me it was ALL in good humor, just people doing the same things from a direction they were able to relate to more. So why the division? Is it ALL born from what the two genders experience from each other, or is it a lack of understanding the benefits of realizing that we really are not so different from one another? Are we MEN and WOMEN, or are we HUMAN BEINGS and part of a WHOLE?

” I have a dream that one day in Alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of interposition and nullification, one day right there in Alabama little black boys and black g.·ids will he able to join hands with little white boy’s and white girls as sisters and brothers. ” – Martin Luther King Jr. “I Have A Dream Speech”

The above statement is part of the speech made by Martin Luther King Jr. in 1963 and it begs the question, What does it take? What does it take to be the kind of person who looks toward UNITY as the answer to being subjected to the injustice brought on by prejudice? Many argue that it takes a GREAT PERSON and this is what this man will always be remembered and honored for being. His era in American history taught us all that there is no such thing as SEPARATE but EQUAL. How we continue to view each other and ourselves as different from one another is what keeps the rift from closing. This is the case of racism, and this is also the case for sexism as well.

I want to take a moment now to examine the difference between an IDEA and a LABEL.  Idea’s are blueprints, they are progressive, they are part of how we manifest and shape concepts of reality, but because of this, they are also FLUID in nature. A label is FIXED, a sort of catch all word or phrase that is meant to put an idea in a nutshell. The two really have no place together, because as an idea changes, so too the label takes on new and different meanings. This happens until a divide is created even among those who define themselves under a label.

I was recently pointed to an article that was very informative and well thought out. It pertained to the role that the divide in feminism played in the recent election. I will leave a link here for you to go and read it, it really is an eye opener on many fronts.

Feminism of the Few Has No Place in a Nation for All

Within this article I saw phrases like “Neo Liberal Feminists” What this phrase shows me not as a man, but as a person, is the effect that labels have on an idea. An IDEA is meant to promote growth and progress within the area that the idea pertains to, a LABEL promotes only that which a label does, which is to say that it RESTRICTS an idea to a fixed state. What happens when you ALMOST fit the LABEL, but you don’t? The same thing that happened among people of Christian faith: They split into DENOMINATIONS and when this happens PEOPLE under a LABEL begin fighting with one another over what is right and wrong on top of what they were already fighting for in the first place. It becomes counterproductive.

So what now? Do you continue down the path that led to this over extension of conflict, or do you make strides in taking POWER away from the label itself? Feminists want a world where women can be seen as equal and be treated with the same respect as everyone else. In this argument TRUE EQUALITY can only be achieved when men stop looking at women as women and start seeing them as people like themselves. This ideology is JUST and LOGICAL, however the very label of FEMINIST is gender specific, they do not call themselves HUMANISTS  which might be encompassing of PEOPLE as a whole. In light of this the sensible question to ask would be. “How can I as a man see you as the same, when you label yourself as different in the very same way that men are guilty of seeing you as?” As informative and well thought out as the above article was, even if it reached people, even if the divide among FEMINISTS was mended and women saw each other as equal, then what? There would STILL be one major divide left to address and that would be the one between the genders. How does that divide get mended?

I believe that there are few out there who do not understand, at least on some level. When it comes to brass tacks, there really are very few out there who have managed to escape oppressive views. No one holds a corner on the market for oppression. There are just too many reasons that people look down on each other and most of them have to do with what a person is rather than what a person does. I may not know a women’s struggle, but I have a heritage in civilized people who extended their hand in friendship to share what they had with others only to have that kindness spit in their faces when they were over run and forced from their homes and land. My Great Grandfather Dennis Standing Horse was a full blooded Native American of the Cherokee Tribe. I don’t know a woman’s struggle, but I faced the same issues in school that anyone who wore twenty dollar McGreggors as opposed to the one hundred and twenty dollar Air Jordans, from both students with an elitist attitude as well as even faculty who believed those elite were where the future would lay while the rest of us were going to be the pizza delivery boys and girls. The above article also shows us, that discrimination is clearly not a gender specific issue, therefore it stands the reason to believe that it is HUMAN ERROR.  and if it is HUMAN ERROR, then it is a HUMAN PROBLEM not strictly WOMEN’S PROBLEM. As hard as it is when you are the one being put down and held back, to put that aside and come at an argument from a direction that includes EVERYONE, it really is the only viable option we have not really tried. We say that women being allowed to vote is a victory for women, but the truth of the matter is, it is a victory for the society as a whole, because it is the recognition that EVERYONE who stands to be effected by the actions of lawmakers has the right to decide who those lawmakers will be. it is meant for stronger unity in that sense of duty across the board. THAT benefits us ALL. When you say that women can hold the same job as a man and not be paid the same salary as that man is a WOMEN”S problem…… It isn’t. It’s everybody’s problem, when you think that a companies short sightedness would see them deter someone who could be really great at a job from even wanting to bother because they would never be respected regardless of performance, that company is short changing itself as well. It also promotes the value of money over people, because if pay is not based on the job rather than who has it you are saying this person over here is worth more without anything to actually justify that belief. The mentality that drives into the PEOPLE as a whole is damaging to ALL. I get that women have been pushed for centuries in some places, but in order to obtain that which FEMINISTS as a whole set out to get, which was TRUE EQUALITY, it has to be about more than women’s struggles and victories, it has to cross the line and be about what would benefit EVERYONE, including the oppressors. Things change when PEOPLE are shown the benefit of that change occurring, see it from the side of PEOPLE as a whole. and your support will multiply. I honestly believe this.

I was born on December 5th 1978, The only way I got to see the first Star Wars movie in theaters was when they re-released it. My sister was eight years older than me and a full on geek herself, because of this I consider myself one who was literally born a Star Wars fan by default, because it has been with me, my whole life and was the backbone of many of my happier childhood moments. From sitting through commercials happily when the first film made it’s network television debut, and of course what I was waiting for was the light saber fight between Vader and old Ben. Those were always my favorite parts. I remember  being two years old in the car at the drive in theater for “The Empire Strikes Back” and just picking up images here and there between naps, a star destroyer here, a little green dude waving his hand around and lifting a ship out of a swamp, Chewbacca doing his pissed off Wookie thing at a bunch of weird little pig aliens, but I remember my sister sitting there in the back seat with one of those clunky ass old tape recorders held up to one of those clunky ass old speakers that you hooked to your car window and she recorded the audio of the movie almost entirely, back then you had Beta IF you were lucky and back then you had to wait a year or more before anything would even come out on video, not like today where a movie comes out and three or four months later you have blu ray and week before that you have the digital copy that you can get. Hell these days you can take your phone into a movie theater and secretly record the whole damn thing and then boot leg it. It’s safe to say that technology has allowed such things to gravitate into the realm of thievery, but back then was a different time and I remember  me, my mom and my sister listening to those tapes like old time radio. It never stopped being a part of my life, my world, from watching the first film years later as the very first thing aired on The SciFi channel, taking me back to the days that it made it’s original network debut. to reading the books for hours.

Whenever you hear about the death of someone famous, whose work you know and like there is always that “Damn, that sucks” moment, but when that person was a part of something that has been a part of your ENTIRE life, and it brings back the memories of that simpler time and you can not even imagine what your life would have been like without it, that is a death that can hit you pretty damn hard and you become one of those who literally have an emotional moment.  I get it.  That was someone you never met, being a character who isn’t real, but that time at the drive in, those arguments about “You ate the head off of my action figure, do you know what thing is worth now?” “You let a three and a half inch doll get into the hands of a toddler, what the Hell did you think would happen?” Sitting around a tape recorder and listening to a grainy audio track of a beloved film. Those moments are real moments in our lives that these people unwittingly have been a part of. I am usually the “Damn that sucks” kind of guy. Usually, but this one actually hurt.

There really is nothing else to say, The things she did for people fighting a mental disorder that I know all too well, the take no bullshit from anyone or anything attitude, the humor in the face of it all speaks for itself of a simple truth. Some people pretend to be heroes, some people actually are and all I witnessed over the years suggested that Carrie Fisher was NEVER Princess Leia, It was the other way around. And that is why she is the only Disney Princess that ever mattered in my eyes.

02

SIMPLE, TIMELESS, ELEGANT, FOREVER

I have been promising this entry for awhile now, but have found myself getting hung up on many other things in the interest of catching up on my other writing and getting my other pages back up and running. With this entry I want to take a moment to go a different route than most post election thoughts have gone, which is a Trump bashing party. I did not support Trump, in fact I signed a petition to get the Electoral College to side with the popular vote, that was me doing my part. Even so I want to steer clear of bashing our next president, because, for starters, there is more than enough of that going around so I would not be covering anything new, and also there are things that I feel “We the People” have been over looking for a really long time in the interest of putting all of our eggs in one basket, so to speak.

I predict, that within the first 90 days of Donald Trumps presidency, a lot of the people who voted for him and most of the ones who did not, are going to be trashing his term, and I say this, because guess what? The same thing happened to Obama. The same thing happened to GW Bush. Now while all elected officials make mistakes, there is something to be said of UNREALISTIC EXPECTATIONS, when it comes to these people that we vote into office. Only one percent of Americans can afford the type of lifestyle where you are not generally having to devote so much of your time and life just trying to make ends meet, because of this I think we have this issue of WANTING to think that these people are like shiny golden gods and maybe, just maybe they are going to get in there and fix things from the top of Mt. Olympus on down……. Problem is much of what ails this country is not anything that CAN BE FIXED by some long winded list of government made rules, It is things that the government, in reality can’t nor should be expected to handle. We are a democracy and what that means is, where we see our government fail, is where WE THE PEOPLE need to take up the slack.

The free thinking people who came up with the concept of democracy many millennia ago, did so with the working knowledge that putting the needs of the many into the hands of a few is a fools errand. An example of the meaning of this would be one of the big gripes people have had about the Obama Administration and that is Obamacare. Healthcare reform. Sounds good doesn’t it? Sounds necessary doesn’t it? One of the strong points made to justify it, was to ensure that everyone could have affordable Healthcare, and we got government funded insurance on the idea that it could force the private insurance companies into lowering their premiums. Sounds good in theory, untill you realize that the greed of the private insurance companies, is in part caused by the greed of other sectors of healthcare that Obamacare did not even address. One of these is the unethical practice of doing unnecessary tests and treatments, just because the doctor knows they can get the money for it. Obamacare got hit with that, but what we don’t think about is that the private insurance companies have always been hit with that as well. I’m sure that uncalled for back surgery that the insurance company got hit up for, for over eight grand works wonders for keeping those premiums down…..Not so much. Then you have what we call BIG PHARMA and the fact that when one of these companies make a patent on a new drug, no one else can make a knock off for two whole years, meaning in the beginning they can put whatever price tag they want on their product and if there is no substitute the patient has to pay that 800 USD for seven little pills in a bottle. What you did not see Obamacare do is try to regulate that by having a government based drug company. So in the end most of what makes healthcare cost an arm and a leg was left untouched. Is that all the fault of Obamacare? No, it is isn’t, because the reality is, in order for government to enact healthcare reform and be perfect, you would be looking at a book of laws and programs, that written in legal terminology, would be roughly seven times the size of the Holy Bible and if you were lucky about an eighth of it could even be understood, and if you were divinely fortunate one sixteenth of it would actually get enforced to any degree of efficiency once it made it’s way down the levels of healthcare. Our problems, CAN NOT be fixed from the top, down. From 1998 until 2000, one of my three jobs that I held at the time was as a janitor for a private owned doctors office. On three occasions while emptying the trash in the phlebotomy room I almost got stuck, by used needles that were wrongly placed in the regular waste paper basket rather than in the plastic biohazard container where they belonged. On all three occasions I went off  on the doctors who ran the place to do something about it, but alas it happened again. That was NOT on any government agency to do anything about, it was on the doctors who ran that private practice to fix and they failed. See where I am going with this? Before we have the right to expect more from our elected officials who come from American families and American towns, we HAVE to be able to expect better from ourselves, because “We The People of The United States of America” ARE the BOTTOM LINE, WE always have been.

Every election whether it is treated like UFC 200 Main event, like this last one was or not, is ripe with ads where candidates talk about what they believe and other politicians with known faces come on there and talk about how much this person or that person cares for our nation and it’s people and it is all to the inspirational and patriotic orchestra music playing in the back ground. I swear I don’t think I have seen a single profession where more people go out of their way to create larger than life personas to get the support of people than politics….. Oh wait a minute, professional wrestling comes to mind. With this being the case how can the people hope to believe that they can do as much for themselves as these shiny golden gods of Olympus that we feel the need to punch a ticket for once every four years? Well let me challenge you with a little piece of history that took place here in 2016 amid the desperate struggle for presidency. You might have seen me post here about a movement called Rise which was founded in the interest of protecting the rights of rape victims. The movement gained such support from people in general that they created an Act to take to the federal government to get passed into law. Now the fore runner of this group is a 24 year old girl named Amanda Ngyun and from start to finish the Act she took to Washington, with the backing of her supporters, went through each section of government with UNANIMOUS votes and government support. A girl, backed by the people, a girl twelve years too young to even be able to run for President of the United States, by law and without a political title of her own, did more to cut through the same old partisan politics that have been a stopper to many things attempted for the common good of the people than ANY president has been able to do for decades. We have power. Our problem comes from either not knowing how to use that power, or simply not believing that we have it in the first place.

Now before I close this out to the appearance of being just another know it all who specializes in complaining about an issue rather than trying to come up with a way to fix it, I want to revisit a point I made in one of my earlier entries. I talked a lot about my time living on a river bank in the small town of Marmet in West Virginia after my divorce. In that time I met many challenges. No room in shelters. No transportation other than walking because I had to keep every penny I found for things like water especially because this was in June of 2014. When you are placed in this type of situation, you have a choice to make. You can either cave to the despair that every single one of the numerous set backs cause, or you can really take stock of what is creating the issue, why some of these programs do not work, or do not work to the degree needed to really move towards solving homelessness as a problem. In the process of documenting my every move via Facebook I really was able to look at the situation and say. PROBLEM: I don’t have transportation, but I have to go to multiple places, JUST to get an idea of what all is out there that can help me get through this and come back into being a productive member of society, I then have X number of places that need to go to just to get the ball rolling. I have five days a week that any of these places are open to make use of them. THIS IS DOUBLE THE LEG WORK, DOUBLE THE TIME, and being on the streets, is no different than any survival situation where time is of the essence. SOLUTION: An easy fix would be to inform and provide the information to all of these programs to all of these organizations, since they are all essentially there to fix the same problem. What this would allow to happen is for someone of limited transportation to only have to go to one place in order to get informed themselves of all that is out there to aid them and cut down the leg work through giving them the tools to figure out a plan of action rather than go off of trial and error. I bring this up, because I believe that if we collectively had this same type of mentality, we would find that there really is so much more that we can do towards fixing our problems ourselves, instead of relying so heavily on elected officials just to turn around and blame them for EVERYTHING. And truthfully, if you are already feeling the negative effects of something that you are complaining about, then it stands the reason that you are already in that mess and it really will not take anymore of your time to examine it and see exactly where the problem is occurring and have an idea that can be shared on how that problem can be reduced if not eliminated. In short as a former president once said. “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.”
