As promised we are entering the next stage of evolution for The Unspoken Ethic. When I started this blog I had one goal in mind, to tell my story of one of the hardest trials I have ever faced. To give people some insight into who I am and to throw some ideas out there from a perspective that we don’t normally consider them from. As time went on, I took a different approach taking on a philosophical tone towards things that I liked and related to. Time has moved on, like the world itself and I started noticing myself changing tones again. It is time for that change here, but as we all know what has left a mark on us, becomes something we stick with as we are creatures of habit. Over time, I kept seeing increasing signs, or maybe just opened my eyes to those signs a little more, and so even as I officially start down this path, I am forced to recall an unfinished battle from the place where I began this journey.

The above picture was of the Facebook post that started it all for me. It was written days after I went to stay with a friend and work on their farm, after leaving my wife. This was part of the 16 pages she printed out and gave to authorities as she filed a restraining order against me in the face of me being 30 miles away and refusing to talk to her when she called. I would also add that this was the only post printed that was missing it’s comments……miraculously. Here for the newbies to my site is where, once these printed comments came to the Roane County sheriffs station, one among them decided to circle half a sentence and took it to a circuit judge who signed off on an arrest warrant. Days later while I was in the process of cleaning and rehanging a storm door that had been blown off in a big storm a couple years before I had the county sheriffs, the state police, the FBI, Homeland Security and a K-9 unit roll up on the farm and take me into custody. Three days later I found out through a phone call that my arrest had made national news. WOWK TV handled it locally, FOX NEWS blasted it everywhere.

Now I have kept a decent eye on this over the years and the furthest it ever moved on Google search was 8 positions down on the first page when I would search my name. Earlier today I checked and the link shown in the above picture now goes to a blank page. As of late last year even, my mugshot came up among the first of my pictures and today it was nowhere to be seen accept on a Facebook page for West Virginia mugshots dated from August 29th 2013. As far as any reports surrounding it, I could find nothing, but I assure you as this picture shows, it happened.

I had spent 8 days in jail, and upon my release, made possible only by the prosecutor dropping my bail from the highest it could be for charge, which was 150,000 to the lowest 500. No press was present that day at my pretrial. I was released the following day. Now aside from my public defender who was not much more help to me than the following 2 that my case would be shunted off to over the course of the year it was in the system, I had family who had asked their attorneys what I should do. The consensus was to sit on my hands and say nothing. I kept an eye to see if anything had developed in the news. I was not contacted, no one was. The more I thought about my situation, the more I realized, that if I had to wait for my trial to have my side told in a small town court system where I was an outsider, it would be AFTER the only thing anyone who could be selected as a jury was exposed to the very INCOMPLETE version of the story ran by the press. The above was my response. I did not care about the risks. I believed that the rather careless reporting with it’s lack of any details beyond what would make the sheriffs department look like heroes, flew in the face of due process, considering it was the only version of the story put out to millions of Americans, not to mention any from the town where a jury of my peers would be selected. You always hear about the freedom of the press, but you never hear about how they use that freedom to interfere with the constitutional rights of the American people. Because they could not be OBJECTIVE, I was at greater RISK of being found guilty over a statement that was misrepresented in it’s context. If they had done their job, they might have looked at that post, because it was in FACT a PUBLIC POST. That half sentence would not be the only thing.

At the time of my arrest I had been doing volunteer work for a local community theater for the better part of 5 years. In that time I had served on the theater’s board of directors, which in turn saw me be invited to be part of the East End Alliance Halloweast committee which was formed by Charleston city officials to develop the East end of the city into an art center. The Halloweast committee planned and organized the yearly Halloween fundraising event made to help raise money for the task of turning the East End into an art center. While volunteering for this theater, we had made a deal with a locally started sci-fi/horror convention, which at the time was in it’s second year. Our theater’s building would house part of the conventions events. We and the convention people did a fair amount of cross promotion for one another. The picture that was referred to in the police report was actually part of that cross promotion and was in fact part of the volunteer work I had been doing. Now it seems to me, that the judgement of that picture came from yet another high profile media buzzed shooting, a judgement that did not include anyone bothering to look for the facts behind. You can go to my Wikipedia page and see that I have a history with this particular Local Theater Kanawha Players, and their minutes by the laws of a 501c3 are PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE. This ends MY PERSONAL experience with the bane that Partisan, non objective press and mass media has become to our society. Below is the link to my Wikipedia page.

Below is a link to an interesting article on writing headlines, the psychology of headlines and what makes for a successful headline. It states that in their study 8 out of 10 people only read the headline, 2 out of 10 read the article’s content. This is important when considering the immense growth of the internet and social media sites in the last decade. The growth of social media has added a rather dangerous element when combined with mass media outlets that are biased in their content. You see there is a rather important factor to consider when 8 out of 10 people only read the headlines and 2 out of 10 people read the content and that is when that content is biased in any way 10 out of 10 people come away from the article ill informed and that number grows exponentially when the biased or misinformation hits the internet in the social media circuit. This headline study also hits us with the success of negative superlatives and how online those headlines using words like: “Never” “Worst” had an average CTR (Click Through Rating) that was 63% higher than headlines with positive superlatives. They go to say that another study of 100 posts on tech site showed that headlines utilizing violent sounding words like: “kill” “fear” “dark” “bleeding” and “War” also had a higher number of social shares. Now where it comes to the media it is no secret that your local news will run a story of a bad wreck on the interstate that killed 3 people, sometimes hours later when clean up is no longer causing traffic delays and the wreck itself does nothing to change any kind of traffic laws in the area it happened in. Why this is considered news when it has no bearings on most of the viewership remains an unanswered question. Another unanswered question would be if they are intent on giving us “News” that essentially is not news so much as “life” and the sometimes unfortunate occurrences that befall people why not run stories on the estimated number of people who pass by that same spot on any given day, including the day of the wreck, that nothing happens to? This type of reporting turns the 3 people killed in an unfortunate accident from being people that are remembered fondly by a handful of family and friends into the people that are remembered by 10,000 viewers as the unfortunate people that were killed in an accident. This in turn leads us to another question. How much of how people view things like headlines utilizing negative or violent sounding words has been influenced in the course of time by the media? To be fair you also have to consider that when nothing happens, there is no news to tell and so through informing us when something occurs, the media automatically perpetuates attention to the negative by default. Are people negative by nature, or have we been conditioned to only pay attention to the negative instead of the whole picture? When we ask this question, we begin to see where opportunists, pushing agenda, take advantage of the system designed to inform people as a means to manipulate them instead. This too, is a very dangerous element. I will get more into this, but first I want to leave you this link to the article I have been writing about and yes, as you can tell by the title of this entry, made use of. It’s not so fun when the tables turn is it?

The power of the media to inform and influence has been well documented and in fact is the reason the press was given freedom under our Constitution, but freedom as we have always heard said here in America, is not free, there comes with it both sacrifice and responsibility. With this said it begs the question why there are politically partisan media outlets. Editorials and Magazines excluded, although I feel strongly that any News source that runs editorials should hold these editorials to account where stated “facts” are concerned by requiring reference points for where these numbers and facts come from. Below are 2 examples of this not being the case. Both editorials are focused on the DACA issue, however one is conservative based while the other is liberal. Again this leads to another question: If news is just news, just complete facts, Why then is there even such a thing as (left leaning) or (right leaning) NEWS? How much has this played a factor in the divide of  our people who once considered themselves simply Americans into a SPLIT between conservatives and liberals?

If you are still not convinced by that dear readers, here is another article making use of war time propaganda tactics. At what point do we begin recognizing this type of “reporting” as detrimental to the unity of our people?

It’s not just us here in America either. Lets take a look at a news source for one of allies. Remember 8 out of 10 people are only going to read the headline, what does this headline tell you? What the other 2 who actually read it get is how often young royals get away with things like this and even sometimes the older ones as well and it states an example of that. What it does not state is that this incident caused the royal couple any grief at all from the higher ranking royals……In fact you get left with the question: Who besides the people WRITING this article are even bringing attention to this breaking of protocol like it means something more than how it is even presented in the article itself?

While it’s nice to know we are not alone in the problem of an inflated press, I’m more concerned about our yard at the moment, but I wanted to show that inflated agenda driven press is a problem for more than just us. Let’s return now with another recent story that broke with 2 sides. In the face of #MeToo and #Timesup movements, strong emotions become a factor, sometimes, so much so that people are compelled to accentuate for the sake of making the movement stronger. This is a double edged sword as you see here in these 2 articles. Here by making a story more than what the person coming forward intended for it to be, giving that the main person involved in the accusation has been old news for awhile now, we get our first real close up of how the media creates situations that will in all likelihood do more to scare real victims away from coming forward with their stories. A lot of these people have remained quiet because they are nervous about coming forward, common sense dictates that when they start seeing media twist victim’s stories to be about something more in order to push an agenda, it will do little to encourage them to stand up. It will also amp up the drama to the point that people will start getting hit for nothing, because, and I can vouch for this due to my case, over the “climate” it creates, or after enough of that happens, what was once a movement will become a trend that no body can put any stock into. Is it worth that?

Quentin Tarantino Explains Everything: Uma Thurman, The ‘Kill Bill’ Crash & Harvey Weinstein

Now I come to the part where I return to the subject matter that once got me into trouble, but never the less I feel this needs to be addressed. That would be the topic of recent school shootings. Before I continue just for argument’s sake I want to state that NONE OF WHAT I SAY IN THIS PART IS A THREAT TO COMMIT ANY VIOLENT ACT. Some people had a problem with that concept the last time I just wanted to make that clear. Lets start with a chart that takes us from 1980 to 2012. A chart that shows all 137 incidents of fatal school shootings and the 297 people killed in those. Does it surprise you to see how the numbers start jumping in the latter half of that 32 year span? You always hear about the effects of violent video games and television programming, you hear about bullying and bad parents and I estimate some of these get more credit than they deserve while others don’t get enough, but how much of a change does our advancements in communications play a factor? One thing I noticed was the steady increase that coincides with the rise of the internet.

2014 rolls around and a new non profit organization called Everytown pops up. There are 2 things worth noting about this organization against gun violence. The first is that they created a very broad criteria base for what they consider to be school shootings. You will even find one of the original 18 school shootings that made their list was a suicidal veteran who called the police and told them he was suicidal before shooting himself in his car while in the parking lot of a school that had been closed down already, another was not even a matter of someone going psycho, in fact the person directly at fault was a cop for carelessly not paying attention when a 3rd grader fired his gun in it’s holster while the cop was sitting on a bench. Fortunately no one was hurt or killed in the incident. The second thing worth noting about this group is how much stock a lot of the media puts in the numbers they provide. Below is an article that notes all of the above. You will find that I chose this article from among the 2 that I found that states this group’s blatant scare tactics while pushing an agenda for gun control, because it is everything that earlier editorials were not. The writer gave reference points that could be clicked on to view the source, they even called out their own paper for being one of the ones that briefly used this groups numbers. It’s important to note that there are many good things that remain about the press and the media, I just firmly believe that we can no longer ignore the less favorable and downright dangerous ways that it has also misused it’s freedom at our expense.

Now lets discuss this knack the media has with it’s intense focus on these events to make celebrities out of murderers. Below is an article that again gives many reference points including a link to a study that looks into the copycat factor of many of these mass shootings. If the media is aware of this information you may ask Why are we not as likely to see these findings on the “News” during these moments of crisis as we are a group like Everytown’s? Why the bias?

So lets do the list shall we? In this entry I have covered  and given examples for comparison how the media has misused it’s freedom to:

1.Interfere with due process.

2. Design how the facts are presented to shape a story.

3. Use war time propaganda against our own people other AMERICANS.

4. Escalate the effect of emotion over reason on social issues to make a bigger story at even the expense of victims.

5. Use sensationalized numbers for the sake of pushing the agenda of gun control on the people.

6. Make celebrities out of murderers and in turn, YES, make themselves accomplices, however unwittingly to the further killing of our people.

…….And I did it ALL without screaming “FAKE NEWS” even once, I might add.

This entry is about breaking down the disease that is effecting our society. Now I’m not saying the media is solely to blame, because it isn’t, but it does play a factor. Social media plays another as does groups like Everytown that can’t grasp that reality is all the truth you need to scare people with and the instant gratification of readers thinking they are actually informed experts over reading a headline. There are many factors that combine into the perfect storm. They all have to be considered if we are to find any real solution.

One small way that media can help solve this issue from their end, would be to STOP RUNNING COMMERCIALS DURING NEWS BROADCASTS. I say this because with talk shows, game shows, sporting events, syndicated series, prime time award winning shows, any network has plenty of programming to make money running ads. Our NEWS BROADCASTS, should be to inform and educate us, that is, as our forefathers believed, highly important to our people and our nation and it should not be used as a tool for profiteering. When it is, of course the network will go out of it’s way to make sure it has enough viewers to that news broadcast to get a number of ads in. It becomes a controlling factor by which it operates and we have seen the effects. Anything to keep the buzz going, even over a tragic event makes it profitable while it deeply effects the foundation of this nation which is it’s people.  I don’t have a problem with big business, I would even be all for finding a reasonable way to supplement whatever they would lose running news programming without commercials, but the media needs to step back and look at it’s place in the mess we have to deal with moving forward.

In my last post in The Book of The Redeemed Jedi: The Resolving of The Gray Through Refined Jedi Sight, I ran an online social experiment on You Tube in which I left a Negative comment on a video and sat back to see what kind of reactions I would get from it. It went far better than I had ever hoped for, the sheer diversity of mindsets that responded was a testament to the variety of people the music in the video reached. I had: The Fan with their own opinion, The Cookie Cutter response that assumed meaning without thought, The Care Bear who believed that nothing negative should be said, The Angry Response, The innocent question of reasoning, and The Developed Argument Response. The link is above, I think many of you may be surprised by the plot twists and the outcome of that little experiment. It was done to show the VALUE of questioning people’s comfort zones as a way of getting them to think about actions and beliefs they show that even they may not be aware of to EXCHANGE IDEAS. As such, I used what many these days who are so easily OFFENDED would consider a DARK SIDE TACTIC.

The first part was to show how an EXCHANGE of IDEAS to promote growth as a person and as a people, no matter how ugly, frustrating and painful OPEN DIALOGUE can be, in it’s early going. This second part is designed to show you the importance of MEDIATION for a Civilization that is growing more and more divided, and not just in the realm of Politics and Social Justice as you will see when we get into this. So YES, this time I am using a LIGHT SIDE TACTIC to direct attention outward to a more common place issue and what I have come to feel in this case is THE REAL PROBLEM, when seen in context to how our “World Works” I think we’ll find it is something of a root problem with civilization in general. And with that I will begin.

It was one of the most anticipated movies of the year, by both fans and box offices alike as they have taken a hit and would still go on to end 2017 at a loss. You might say that “The Last Jedi” was looked upon as a New Hope……I’m terrible, I know. Heh heh The teaser dropped in April during the Annual Star Wars Celebration convention, and it got everyone in a frenzy. The visuals were as stunning as you would have expected, being both Star Wars and a Rian Johnson film. Anyone familiar with his work on the series Breaking Bad could attest to the fact that beyond the compelling story and characters, literally almost every shot in that show, looked like an art piece you would find in a gallery. The teaser also gave us a rather attention grabbing cryptic line by one of the Legendary characters of the original trilogy. It was HOT! Geeks set about the rather fun task of trying to put the puzzle pieces together creating theories, People hoped that some of the issues with “The Force Awakens would get fixed or at least explained.. (Cough, cough Mary Sue) Some people had the problem that it was the start of REPEATING the same movies, though honestly, beyond the first in each trilogy spending roughly 45 minutes on a desert planet at some point, Dialogue has been the biggest recurring theme. I saw one critic bash the fact that The First Order was a repeat of The Empire….I always viewed it as an extension, after all The Sith had built quite a network over the course of 1000 years and given their knack for secrecy, it was not a stretch to believe that the emperor had a place where all the wealth and know how of that network would be funneled to in case of fire. 😀 For all we knew at that point Palpatine himself may have just been the apprentice and face man of the Sith. Aside from such things like that, the idea that this one would predictably be the darker film, simply because Empire was the darker film of the original trilogy, never really set with me, because it was like people FORGOT there was ANOTHER trilogy and in that one, it was the THIRD film that was the darkest. Like somehow bringing back the original characters automatically meant it would repeat THAT process. Yet unlike A New Hope it ended with a cliffhanger. Suffice to say, I liked “The Force Awakens”  What annoyed me really was not that big of an issue, save for Rey, but I liked her, and there was much we did not get to know, so I forgave a lot, but reserved the right to readdress her as an issue, if she was not explained and STILL was TOO POLLY PERFECT……..Because that WOULD BE PISS POOR STORYTELLING given that everyone else in the series had been grounded and solid. This leads me to the next rant people had over what they saw as the bastardization of Han and Leia…..The bad parents….Okay the bad parents element was a little bit of a slap to who those characters were when we last saw them, but if we are being honest, given the TYPE of people they were prior to meeting, that was NOT a relationship that would have lasted outside of war time….I’m sorry. The fact that getting involved and taking a strong leadership position in the rebellion like Leia, was really the ONLY THING that put Han on par with her as an equal. Okay, war is over, now you have to rebuild a political structure, Leia was the adopted daughter of a politician and herself had served in the Imperial Senate before it was disbanded. Given the type of person she was OF COURSE she would have moved on from the war to REBUILD that political structure, which is one Hell of a time consuming task. War is over…….What does the former smuggler/survivor do? You could not see Han being a politician, he was NEVER able to negotiate his way through ANYTHING. What does he do with out the war? Sit at home eating Cheetos and watching holovid porn? We know in the real world that when these types of people get together, without the personality of one consuming the other and in this case would have clearly been Han throwing his hands up at everything and automatically ALWAYS saying She’s the boss, he would have reached that point of being tired of always being second to the woman he loved and he would have been going out and screwing around. THAT’S REALITY! Having them still be together WOULD have made it more of a Disney film to me personally.

SDCC came around mid-summer as always and the official Trailer dropped…..Here began the first real rumblings of descension among fans……Porgs. The certainty that Disney was twisting Star Wars to be like every other Disney movie. I had this problem with the Ewok haters too. You DO REALIZE this series was designed with a family element in mind and so there were SUPPOSED to be things in it for the little ones as well as the older lot? Say that and then they bitched that it was only for merchandising purposes…… Of ALL the corporate tactics to make big bucks, that actually FUCK PEOPLE OVER, doing a merchandise plug to sell toys from a high merchandise friendly movie being released around Christmas…..Is NOT one you will ever hear me bitch about. I actually do view that as SMART BUSINESS as long as what they do does not fall outside of the realm of can exist within Star Wars, therefore does not screw with the storytelling. There are too many other business practices that DESERVE CRITICISM, and Yes, we will be getting into that as Disney DID actually start pulling stunts with “The Last Jedi” that was GRATUITOUS and represented NOTHING but GREED. We will also be covering The REAL LIES beneath film fantasy, namely this idea of presenting “DIVERSITY” as though it were ever anything NEW to Star Wars. Let’s face it for starters NOTHING THAT multi generational, on an INTERNATIONAL LEVEL for 40+ years, does not REPRESENT DIVERSITY in NUMBERS of the people who have been drawn to it ALONE…But I am getting a little ahead of myself.

Did Mark Hamill make the fans a little nervous, especially those who had an off opinion of “The Force Awakens”…….Yeah, he did a little bit, but honestly his questioning how his character was going to be portrayed could not cast as bad a shadow over the film prior to release as the manner in which Disney decided to increase intake from ticket sells by an additional 5% over what most films take for the studio, they added to this with a list of stipulations for all theaters that ran the film. These included forcing the theaters to run the film for a full 4 weeks in their largest auditorium, and any violation of the stipulations in this contract would result in Disney taking 70% of the ticket sells. I will leave the link to the article from  Business Insider that explained the contract in detail for those who were unaware of it.

Here is another article on the topic run by Mashable, this is just to show you, I do look at more than one thing when researching.

The general consensus was that theaters did not take it very well and some SMALLER THEATERS refused to show the film out right, because it stood to cost them more than help them. This move seemed a little heavy handed and GREED based, a little too much so for the ideology of behind the creator of Disney’s intent, especially for a film that was going to make them A LOT……and HAS, regardless of what anyone actually thinks of it……Not ALL CHANGE is for the best.

Disney would follow this up with a ban against LA Times reporters from advance screenings of their movies, based on a two part expose run by the paper on the tax breaks Disneyland gets from the city of Anaheim, California. This ban caused a lot of backlash and was withdrawn after papers and critics groups alike stood in boycott of reviewing ALL Disney films in a show of solidarity to the LA Times. This incident took place just mere days following the news of the before mentioned theater contract. So right there we had Disney themselves in the span of a week casting their own SHADOWS over their future films. This was 6 weeks, give or take, from ‘The Last Jedi” opening, The DAY BEFORE that opening Disney made it’s move to buy up most of 20th Century Fox. On the heels of such bad coverage, Disney announces a deal that would give reign over many other popular properties. Predator, Aliens, X-Men, Deadpool…… I am NOT sure if X Files is counted in that. So now we have a DIFFERENT look at the NEGATIVE Backlash. Let’s face it kids “Subsidiary” and “Holding company” are legal terms that make up THE LOOPHOLE that essentially ALLOWS MONOPOLY, which is ILLEGAL. Has No one thought that this sort of thing acts as an undertone to SUCH EXPLOSIVE BACKLASH?

I’m not going to to link the article on Disney buying Fox, because It’s a DONE DEAL at this point and EVERYONE knows I wasn’t making that up.

Midnight showing time………The internet LIT UP, and I mean LIT UP. Immediately the war between the people who loved the film and the people who hated it was declared. I have listened to both sides, have heard and seen some hefty accusations, some PURE HATRED from both sides and of course A LOT of PISS POOR EXCUSES, and POLITICAL SPIN from Disney, Lucasfilm, Rian Johnson and other Disney, Lucasfilm supporters for ALL OF IT…..That goes back to that whole, the REAL LIE that has been what has gotten on my nerves, even more than the bickering.

Some call this the WORST STAR WARS FILM EVER MADE. Some call this THE BEST STAR WARS FILM EVER MADE. Where do I fall on this…….It took me A LONG TIME to come to this one and it became the reason I am doing this post. As a fan it is THE WORST STAR WARS MOVIE EVER MADE, and I have very different reasons for thinking that than what I have seen from some of the more EXTREME SUPERFANS. To some degree, I DO AGREE with Mark Hamil that Luke was misrepresented. I did NOT feel that way about Han or Leia for the reasons I mentioned, where they ended up still fit a REALISTIC character arc for those two and despite what others say, THEY WERE STILL HEROES. Leia was still fighting the good fight, Han never lost that sense of heroism as he agreed to help Rey and Finn. Yeah Luke got screwed. I know people change in 30 years, but if you are going to have him even entertain the thought of killing his nephew, after risking everything to save his father……Give us A LITTLE MORE BACKSTORY as to what would have led him to do something that was COMPLETELY AGAINST the core of his character. That IS one one of those PISS POOR STORYTELLING moments. I would NOT HAVE HAD A PROBLEM WITH THAT…..if they had given us a BETTER more BELIEVABLE REASON, for him to go THAT FAR AWAY from who he was. I’m not going to go into they should have done this there or that, This is not a post to rewrite a movie that is done. I am simply pointing out areas where STORYTELLING ELEMENTS were ABUSED, MISUSED, or COMPLETELY IGNORED. Another Luke aspect, He claimed that he had come to that island to die. He did not want to be found etc. etc. THE ENTIRE MAIN PLOT OF “THE FORCE AWAKENS” WAS CENTERED AROUND EVERYONE LOOKING FOR THIS MAP THAT HE LEFT BEHIND! Why Leave a MAP behind if you don’t WANT TO BE FOUND? Well maybe that’s why he broke it up………They don’t have DELETE BUTTONS in Star Wars? And storing it in R2 wouldn’t have been the most inconspicuous place to put the biggest part of that map. Right there barring the missing Knights of Ren sub plot, essentially made this a reboot in the middle of a trilogy. The Matrix Reloaded did a fair share of deconstructing it’s predecessor, but it did NOT DISREGARD IT! It’s deconstruction was to CREATE a sense of drama around the FINALE, REVOLUTIONS, by stripping the heroes AND the audience of this certainty of victory they had because of NEO, just hours before they faced impending doom. It WAS STILL A COHESIVE STORY. Even if Episode 9 can fix certain things, “The Force Awakens” has been successfully DETACHED from this STORY. In NO PART of the originals or prequels did any of them DO THIS! That is simply SLOPPY STORYTELLING. That is NOT a NON ACCEPTANCE OF CHANGE, or if ACCEPTING CHANGE means Watching MY ART of STORYTELLING die just to accommodate projected numbers for a property and not a story, then Yeah I’m a fossil. Everything these films do now, is off of the shoulders of a story that STOOD ON IT’S OWN MERIT. If ACCEPTING CHANGE means that MAKING MONEY allows us to not have to hold ourselves to any REAL STANDARD OF PROFICIENCY, breeding WEAKNESS as a norm….Yeah I’m a fossil. Somethings are just worth more than what GREED can give us. That was my view as a fan and a storyteller and there was more I could cover, but those were the most profound……Besides Mary Sue. Oh yeah there was ONE MORE THING and I will give this post some picture flair for this one.

When market research and projected numbers would have you send a message to girls that tells them.

You are a bad ass simply because of WHAT YOU ARE!

Some CHANGE is NOT for THE BEST. Especially when ALL EVIDENCE POINTS to it not being done for the sake of bettering anything, but rather simply for GREED. Did you hear the one about that woman director Lucasfilm hired?……. Because there is nothing to hear, it HASN’T HAPPENED, but that’s okay you’re AWESOME JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE WOMEN.

It’s great that Kathleen Kennedy and Disney CREATED SUCH Diversity in The Star Wars Universe and can show women doing heroic deeds. Like sacrificing themselves as a decoy to protect a senator who was portrayed by Natalie Portman, a native of Isreal ……Wait that was Mexican actress Veronica Segura in Episode 2 Attack of the Clones….AND that was BEFORE George Lucas sold off the property. Here are a few OTHER examples of why the REAL LIE gets on my nerves.

Anybody remember THIS GUY firing the final shot that destroyed the second Death Star?

OR THIS GUY, who was a SENIOR JEDI MASTER on The Jedi Council second ONLY TO YODA?

I all fairness MOST of the opportunity for DIVERSITY did come from the PREQUELS, such as Jedi Master Depa Billaba, played by Dipika O’Neill Joti a Turkish, Australian of Indian descent.

The list goes on, and if you want to include the EU that Disney, for the most part, threw out the window it too had some pretty impressive females that were strong enough to be adopted by a good bit of the fan base, like Mara Jade, Jaina Solo. DIVERSITY has ALWAYS been a factor. True the original trilogy only gave us ONE woman who was in all three films…….But DENY WHAT SHE DID FOR GENERATIONS………

The Point of the story being about failure is the great teacher. Obi-Wan and Anakin carried that message. That the Jedi needed to change. The Prequels showed us why already. I think this whole lumping EVERYONE in to one category of unable to accept CHANGE falls pretty far from the mark, one could say that WITHOUT CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM there can be NO CHANGE.

On the flipside of that STOP SCREAMING SOCIAL JUSTICE WARRIOR! Social issues HAVE always been part of storytelling, in movies, in books, in music. It adds to that element of realism and allows a story to MEAN SOMETHING. This is just SLOPPY USE of these elements and like I have already pointed out is more likely due to projection numbers than ACTUAL BELIEF in any of these SJW views as is CLEAR by the sloppiness. It’s good old fashioned CORPORATE GREED. The spin I have heard to cover for Disney has pit CULTURE against SOCIAL JUSTICE and the more both sides fight, the more BOTH SIDES DIMINISH IN MEANING. I said that as a fan I agreed that it was the WORST Star Wars film ever made. I also made it a point in my last post to say that there are MANY REASONS for someone to like something, even if you don’t. As a person I have to say, This was THE MOST UNIQUE STAR WARS movie, BECAUSE this DIVIDE would go unnoticed in most anything else BUT A STAR WARS MOVIE. I mean if people went ape shit over X-Men…….I don’t think anyone would care, not to this degree. I have pointed out several things that have illustrated my point of VIEW of what I think THE REAL PROBLEM here actually is…… It comes down to GREED. I THINK We FANS are finally seeing the toll it is taking on our CULTURAL ICONS Like Star Wars. I mean OBJECTIVELY SPEAKING if you can sink 200 million in to a budget and accept a movie that has this many plot holes and detaches it’s predecessor from the story as your finished product, you LACK STANDARDS. That is a FAILURE of GREED.

That is a FAILURE of GREED.

When you “CARE” SO MUCH ABOUT DIVERSITY, that you SACRIFICE the ART of STORYTELLING and not only make your leading character NOTHING anyone can relate to and create plot devices that nullify the heroics of your female leaders for a big eye candy scene, that could have happened earlier and would not have required any sacrifices if auto pilot was used and would have saved ALL THE PEOPLE WHO WERE GETTING PICKED OFF ALL ALONG. You made your Admiral look like an idiot who cost more lives than Poe. Thumbs Up for WOMEN!

That is a FAILURE of GREED.

You know, other side, If I can’t agree that it’s the best, I can damn sure say that it may just be THE MOST IMPORTANT STAR WARS MOVIE EVER MADE…..For how it’s MESSAGE of FAILURE Mirrors REALITY. I think we ALL have a common enemy. What is your take on REAL CHANGE?

CHOOSE LIFE! Choose wearing a fake fucking smile to hide the pain of living and pulling from any source of pop culture dogma to escape that pain enough to make the smile look real, nothing more than an ode to living the lie of your choosing.

Choose, Lortab, Roxies, Xanax, Crack. CHOOSE METH. Then choose to lay the blame at the door of greedy pharmaceutical companies and Canadian mail order prescription depots for the streets being awash with the ESCAPE they provide, that something ELSE, Something deeper seated made us turn to in the first place.

Choose cursing at that fat ass 97lb frame you look at in the full body mirror hanging on your closet door and then vomiting the can of chicken noodle soup you had for lunch, flushing the only evidence of your askewed life perception besides the ribs you have showing, down the fucking toilet.

CHOOSE to Vote, once every four years to feel better about your place in the world and assure yourself against all evidence that you’re actually making a difference.

CHOOSE taking a thousand pictures of yourself at arms length until one memory becomes indistinguishable from the next and then force those memories that will mean even less to those you force them on over social media, in a sad attempt to be one in 7 billion and make it count for something.

Choose turning to a father figure who dumped us all in an orphanage run by the orphans to help you make sense of it all.

Choose, interracial, and same sex marriage and being hated by the “morally correct” sect who desperately try to hold a patent on what defines an emotion.

Choose jacking off to pictures of people you hate, chubby chasing, cougar hunting, fisting, BDSM, and piss fetishes, because physical pleasure comes with a less costly price tag than genuine emotional attachment.

Choose aiding people, who stay determined to repeat the same pointless cycles, and caring enough that you’re willing to get sucked into the abyss right along with them. Choose to ignore even those who would make use of that help and circle jerking with people who give even less of a fuck about such things as you do in an effort to not feel just as lost as those who visibly need help.

Faster than a hungover moron contemplating calling the cops over a missing friend prank, being played by others who could have called the cops themselves. More business savvy than a camera crew making a point to get close ups of every single person plainly not enjoying your product through out an entire Pay- Per View. It’s a drunk, It’s a selfie posting skanky hoe, who talks through her nose  kinda like thith. NO! You Dumb Bastards….. It’s the TRUTH and it hurts like a bitch, which is what makes HONESTY so much more fun than LIES. Ha ha ha ha Oh, stay with me sweetness. I’m not that other writer Eric, it’s not in my nature to go quietly into that good night. Besides I have to bag tag you every once in a while because I know a couple Hungarian Baracudas that will just love me for it and go run their mouths to the next person I show support for, putting me on the map of yet ANOTHER person that I otherwise would never have been noticed by at this junction. And THEY get to find out how your little quartet operates, while as long as they don’t actually get involved with things themselves, I have ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM WITH THEM, Just your little clique…..And I’m even a helpful little bastard. See how that works? Why that Burn Notice shit doesn’t effect me, I’m too small, it only helps. Hi Red, What up double mint? This one’s for you sugar and sister, sister too.

Yeah sure we could make that film, but there’s this little pill, and we hate him and his honesty brand. So we don’t make that film, we’re gonna take that pill and fuck with him because we can. We’ll tell how he crawled out of Hell, and with a thunderous yell, declared I’m The Hater of Girls, and if his eye’s on you, He will brand your ass too and this is how their message ran… In their, SCIENCE FICTION OOOO OOO OOO DOUBLE FEATURE!  WE’LL TELL THE WORLD, BEWARE THIS CREATURE. Two siblings fighting the male oppressor. WHOA OH OH OH OHHHH At the late night, double feature picture show. Two ginger hoes. OH OH OHHH At the late night double feature, picture show…

Okay I’ve spent enough time fucking with third rate Scream Queens for shits and giggles, I just wanted to remind you that I’m STILL here and I NEVER forgive and I NEVER forget, and I BOW TO NO ONE.

Now, onto the Main Event of the post. Those of you who follow along with me on Twitter might have noticed that here lately I have been keeping watch on WWE. Now I grew up watching wrestling. My grandfather was a wrestler WAY back in the day. We used to have a streak of going to the matches at what was then The Ohio Center, that lasted for YEARS, every month, during the break of the show we were at, we would go get tickets for the following month. Even after moving to West Virginia following my mom’s death I kept up with it watching it on tv and gathering for the pay per views. I would say in the latter half of the Monday Night Wars, after being one of those people who flipped stations back and forth, I started getting away from it and then life happened, and while I would occasionally seek out updates when I heard something big was happening I had not really watched it for 17 years. In April when The Undertaker had what was being considered by many to be his last match, that kind of hooked me back in and I realized I did not know more than half of the faces I was seeing. Since then I have caught up with a Hell of a lot going back to last year and working my way forward. I like a lot of what I’m seeing, I think these, well Hell a lot of them are kids to me, some of them are near my age range, but a lot of them I got some years on. My problem is NOT with the performers….. WHO The FUCK is running this company now? Have you ever heard the expression It’s like watching a monkey trying to fuck a football? Yeah, it’s THAT bad. UNFORTUNATELY the performers are the ones who suffer for it, being the ones who actually put themselves out there for the world to see. For instance, back in the day when The Undertaker character allowed for all sorts of messed up match types, they all had a very real practical application and concept. Body bag match, Casket match, Buried alive match, and the most famous of all Hell in a Cell. They made sense…….. What the fuck is a House of Horrors Match? I watched it and I still can’t even figure out what it was meant to be but shitty edited student film with violence. See where I’m going with this? Even if you had pulled it off without the bad editing, it still made no practical sense. You have a freaky dude in Bray Wyatt and he could be the New Face of Fear, but NOT if this is how you are going to try to pull that off. The women’s division. Yes I am going there. As you may have noticed I have been pushing mainly their stuff of late. If you want to know WHY, it’s because they need it more than the guys do. That division has come and gone a couple times since I have been a fan, and while they now have an influx of new talent to pull from in NXT and they are closer now then they have ever been to making themselves a part of the bedrock of the industry they are not quite to that point yet. That is not an insult, it’s just a fact that the guys have been the bedrock for so long that even now where the women’s division is at, if it went under I don’t think it would be taking the company with it. When you can it would be as detrimental to the company to lose that division as it would be for the guys to go under, then you have hit that height. I would like to see it do that. It was a shame back in the day to see Sherri Martel NOT be able to do what she could do in the ring, because the division was just gone….even if it did mean that woman became the meanest ass person with a stiletto heel I have ever seen as a valet, this was a former champion who HAD the skill set to be one and she was actually my favorite back then. The dumb assery that as I have pointed out is across the board, even the guys are suffering for it, for the girls it’s even worse when it happens to them, because THEY really don’t need shit happening that’s going to make people lose interest in what they are doing for the business. A couple times, very recently and very close together it has happened to them. One was a disgusting display of the corporate monster trying to destroy the career of someone less than a year into being on the main roster. I’m talking about Bayley. Hell you can say they have bullied the poor girl from jump, they pushed her into a child like role and NOW have blasted the Hell out of her when their great brainstorm failed. It’s great to have a hero for the kids, it is. Hulk Hogan was one of the biggest heroes for all the little Hulkamaniacs out there the world over….. He talked to the kids in a way that inspired them, and he kicked ass in the ring…. NOW did they ever make him out to BE a kid? NO! Were they ever like Here comes the Hulkster YAAAAAYYYYYY?!!! Well maybe at an event that was predominantly kids, like a charity event, but NEVER when the entire fan base was watching….. So tell me why there is this dick buzzing in my ear IT’S BAYLEY BUDDIES!!!! When those used car lot inflatables pop up, like it’s a Goddamn episode of Barney and Friends, or like this is a birthday party? Yeah you got little kids watching at home, yeah she appeals to little kids, but you got a majority of people hearing that shit and it instantly grates on their nerves, because this isn’t fucking Blues Clues this is a simulated combat sporting show, get the fuck out of it. Hell all the girl CAN do is play to what she THINKS you expect of her and if it falls through and seems to have done just that, you’re gonna let it blow up in her face. I call bullshit, and I call it because there are things that you do that can destroy a character, and make it ten times harder for that person to sell it as anything but what it was shown as in that defining moment. You always hear these people talk about there has to be a balance to what you do in the ring in order to make both people look good, but there also has to be a balance in the story line as well and they took this girl from champion to making her look gullible, stupid and pathetically weak. The story that was told was that she didn’t belong period and punctuated with an ass beating with a kendo stick. Even if you think, maybe this girl is too nice and she needs to be taught a lesson that this is a business, You don’t pull shit like that, that openly, because the person you pulled it on, probably more so than anyone else in the division is CONSTANTLY giving shout outs to the NXT people and drawing attention to them, so I would imagine that a lot of them are keeping tabs on her and on the scene in general. If I’m one of the newbies in development and I see that shit, I’m immediately going over to that guy over there and being like “So you wrestled in Japan? What uh, What’s it like over there?” I am thinking of a future where I find somewhere else to take my skills and go to work. Hopefully they fix their fuck up and work with her. As it stands the only silver lining in that situation is that to have had the shortest match at the Extreme Rules Pay Per View, it was so fast paced and had a lot of high impact, and was brutal as fuck and because of this, it really did sort of end up being the ONLY match on the entire card that possessed the qualities to be worthy of the PPV title of EXTREME RULES. The girls did it better than the guys that night. In a way that was kind of like her hero shot, because NO ONE has been expected to take a shot  that sends you to the bottom of the list, just to give a hard ass match like that.

The second recent flub, has been on The Smack down side. This is a show, we know there is no such thing as a number one contender for a title and if there is one, it isn’t decided by any match, it’s decided on fan reaction and merchandise sells and basically what brings in the money. That said, one of the BIGGEST KEY FACTORS in story telling is suspension of disbelief. You are trying to make us buy into the idea that there is a number one contender spot that is being fought like Hell for. SO you build this story over a course of weeks, you have these 6 women going all out and the pay off is this Money in The Bank ladder match, the first time the girls have gotten to do it. and story goes whoever gets that briefcase at the top of the ladder has the power to call for a title match at ANY given time and place even in the middle of a match between the champion and someone else. You built this up, you made this big match, you have billed it as HISTORY MAKING and then last week you……. What? Suddenly realize that you haven’t been utilizing someone on the roster and make some cheap quick way to get them involved by giving them a title shot at the same pay per view where you have this History making match that was supposed to be for that title shot. It is made worse by the fact that this was the Smackdown debut of this person who has NOT been a part of this story line to date….. SO why have the ladder match, that History making match only to completely blow out the importance of the reason for having it in the first place? I get that you have to use EVERYBODY, but what would have been wrong with putting Lana and Naomi in a parking garage and snap pictures of a fight breaking out over the insults from earlier in the night, if they are traveling together to different shows you can build it up and get the word out over the network and when you come back on Tuesday, you can recap these outside televised event occurrence to give enough meat to justify making a non title grudge match at the pay per view, the winner of the ladder match could make it a title match on the spot, and the important thing is, there would be no way to know for sure that was going to happen until that ladder match happened first on the card, then people would figure it out, but the BIG match, the one you have been building for, for over a month now, will have already done what it was supposed to do and made the impact that it was MEANT to make. Now, what would have been a MASTERPIECE is just going to be really good and that only because there is too much pride and professionalism among those involved to do a shit show, because someone backstage dropped the ball. Back in the Day THAT SHIT DID NOT HAPPEN stories were tight, especially for pay per views and to make this screw up on the heels of shit ratings for your flagship show during a time when it had NO COMPETITION. I don’t see that being “Good for Business”, you know that’s ALWAYS the line. I’m wondering when Jon Stewart is going to become champion, then WWE can completely be downward spiraling WCW and without competition. If some one does not put a halt on, the pettiness, the carelessness, the sheer fucking stupidity, the in house sabotage, whatever the fuck it is, they are going to create the NEXT WCW and if this one is not run by money blowing morons, which seemed to be the general consensus WWE might not be the ones coming out on top of this next set of Monday Night Wars.

Not what you were expecting from me was it? LOL In case you did not notice from my opening to this entry I’m something of a wild and an untamed thing myself. You will never see where I’m coming from until I get there. I live for THE FIGHT, so Fuck all of you and have a really great night. Heh heh
